Emotional Intelligence

emotion detection
Research and advancement in emotion recognition continue on a pace and is helping everyone from movie studios to auto manufacturers improve their work. Now, some applied AI startups are figuring out how harness the technology to help e-tailers and brands measure the usage of their websites better. French startup Datakalab last week unveiled a new tool that uses facial recognition and eye-tracking to assess the emotional reactions of people viewing and clicking through websites, along with traditional behavior metrics like page views, bounce rate, click rate, and so on. The tool delivers additional metrics such as “Emotional Product Ranking” and pain points of the customer journey, along with other analyses.  The tool uses existing laptop and webcameras. Testing is opt-in and GDPR compliant, and easily implemented with a Javascript plugin added to a brand or e-commerce website. [Photo by Bruce Mars from Pexels].
