Most overviews of fashion retail and AI focus on how machines might take over, but Federico Marchetti, the CEO of Yoox Net-a-Porter, a store synonymous with online couture commerce that last year opened a tech hub in London for AI innovation specifically, doesn’t think humans are going anywhere, especially for the creative heavy lifting. And in making suggestions for future labeling on merchandise, he inspires, by way of Wired UK, what may be 2018’s coolest idea-cum-prediction for an AI retail future: “Made by humans’ could replace, say ‘Made in Italy.”
